Analyzing MCAS Data From 2023

The MCAS results for 2023 were published in mid-September 2023. In this post, we provide various ways of exploring the results.

The table below lets you analyze the results for the subject and measures you are most interested in. For example, you could select MATH and sort by “E %” (the percentage of students exceeding expectations) or select HiSci (for high school science) and select PHY for the subject to analyze the results for the physics exam taken for the high school science requirement.¹

Note that students are only required to take one science in high school which makes it hard to compare schools where most students take physics versus schools where most students take biology for the MCAS. Also, note that the two other options for science were phased out in 2022. ↩︎
